- SOFiCAD and SOFiPLUS 2016 for AutoCAD® 2017
- FEA Extension for Autodesk® Revit® 2017
- All SOFiSTiK BIM apps for Autodesk® Revit® 2017
Oberschleißheim, September 14, 2016 —- Construction software maker SOFiSTiK has released new versions of its products and BIM (Building Information Modeling) apps. These next-generation software tools offer a range of new features and are fully compatible with AutoCAD 2017 and Autodesk Revit 2017. The two AutoCAD-based products, SOFiCAD (for 2D drafting) and SOFiPLUS 2016 (for object-FEA modeling), will now offer full functionality in combination with Autodesk 2017. SOFiSTiK’s FEA Extension is available immediately for Autodesk Revit 2017 and includes a new command for easy modification of edge properties.
The new versions are available free of charge to customers with current software-service agreements. The installers, which are now also available for Windows 10 (Professional), can be downloaded from the SOFiSTiK website.
In addition, SOFiSTiK has also updated its entire portfolio of BIM apps for Autodesk Revit 2017 compatibility. Updated versions of Reinforcement Detailing (RCD), Reinforcement Generation (RCG), BiMTOOLS and the project templates in the BiMTOOLS Library, and 3D PDF are now available for download from the Autodesk App Store (https://apps.autodesk.com/en ).
New features for generating 3D reinforcement drawings for complex geometries demonstrate the potential of fully integrated 3D planning, for engineering and bridge construction. In Reinforcement Detailing, this includes version management for reinforcement drawings and accompanying steel and bending schedules and for the freezing of the geometry and properties of already installed reinforcements. A dedicated playlist on the SOFiSTiK YouTube channel shows the new capabilities of Reinforcement Detailing 2017.
As of August 2016, the BIM apps from SOFiSTiK are, as with Autodesk products, available exclusively in the form of easily scalable licensing models on a subscription basis. Subscriptions for BIM apps (stand-alone and network licenses) can be acquired as before from SOFiSTiK or through authorized resellers — subscriptions for stand-alone licenses can optionally be acquired from the Autodesk App Store. Licenses purchased before August 1, 2016 can of course continue to be used indefinitely — and in their most recent versions provided a current software service agreement is in place.
