SoftconCIS: Online survey: Precise questions — targeted activities
"How do you get your information?" An online survey of over 700 purchasers for targeted public and media relations
The Task: SoftconCIS is a renowned provider of integrated information and controlling solutions for market-oriented purchasing.
The Munich-based company seeks to Bundle its PR and media activities to reach decision-makers directly without wasting communication on the wrong recipients. SoftconCIS first needed to find out how its target groups - purchasers and purchasing controllers - get their information. Which print and online publications are read on a daily basis? Which events are the most important?
Dr. Haffa & Partner's recommendation: Use an online-survey to evaluate which media SoftconCIS's target groups mainly use to get their information and which events have top priority among purchasing specialists.
The Implementation: Dr. Haffa & Partner supported SoftconCIS in all stages of the planning and execution of the project - starting from working out a precisely formulated questionnaire and sending out the survey using the latest technology to over 700 purchasers through to precise evaluation of the results. Since purchasers are generally not permitted to accept any gifts, Dr. Haffa & Partner proposed donating to a charity and selected a charitable institution to receive the contributions. SoftconCIS then committed to donate 10 euros for the good cause for each reply received.
The Result: Through the survey, SoftconCIS showed its face to over 700 potential customers. Over 10 percent of the recipients of the e-mail participated in the survey. SoftconCIS obtained meaningful insights into the information behavior of its target groups. It became obvious which professional media resource is preferred and which event is attended most. In addition, SoftconCIS obtained a clear idea of how well-known its software solutions are. The results of the survey allowed the company to more accurately focus its company PR efforts. And what's more, the charity received a generous donation.
